In recent years, IT has taken on the vast role of social infrastructure. The expectations toward design in the IT field is increasingly "design that is both earth and people friendly", allowing everybody throughout the world to use IT while also keeping the environment in mind, in addition to high perceived quality in the form of attractiveness, usability, and comprehensibility.
Fujitsu considers "Human Centered Design", which is focused on people, as the basis of all our design activities. In "Customer Centric Design", usage scenes focused on the actual locale of the customer are thoroughly considered, while "Total Design" optimizes the usage scenes themselves from the perspectives of information, instruments, services, and environment, and "Universal Design" aims to allow as many people as possible throughout the world to comfortably use IT. We have taken these three perspectives as our design policy as we aim to make a sustainable and abundant IT society a reality.
In our company booth at this exhibition, we are introducing a portion of our efforts toward sustainable design such as moving away from a reliance on oil and material objects and renewing forest resources with the concept design for a laptop computer using thinned wood for the shell with the "environment" as its theme and our newest laptop computer using bio-based plastic.
