WILLCOM, Inc.

WILLCOM is the sole provider of PHS services in Japan, and has recently been engaged in the new phase of development involving wireless communication through W-SIM.
W-SIM is a micromini communication module that combines a wireless communication function, antenna, and memory to store personal user data, such as in an address book. It has strong potential to correspond with a diversity of device types, and, therefore, could enable development of a variety of products to facilitate communication capability, even for those companies that do not possess wireless communication technology. These products that use W-SIM are called WILLCOM "SIM STYLE".
We also established an NPO called "WILLCOM Core Module Forum" in 2005 in order to investigate and create new areas for W-SIM, such as in new terminals and business style. In this forum, we actively promote the development and popularization of various products and services that use WILLCOM "SIM STYLE". WILLCOM will continue to provide communication services across the boundaries of genres and the industrial world with our unique open strategy.
