Teco's owner Teruko Miyagawa used to run a high-end tailor shop for women's clothes using foreign dress materials. Searching for a fusion of Japanese and Western cultures, she turned to obi (kimono belts), the precious resources of Japanese culture. She was fascinated by the beauty of ancient Teika Bunko (vanity cases) and started reproducing them. Now the shop in Koga City, Ibaraki, aims to be the unique entity through management innovations, enriching people's mind with low-priced, custom-made recycled products utilizing "unused obi at home.".
