明治37年、初代青柳清之助が、現在は胆沢ダムに沈んでしまった増澤にて漆技術を習得し、生まれ里の摺沢で「丸三漆器工場」を創業しました。その後、四代目へと受け継ぎ、1979年有限会社丸三漆器としました。丸三漆器は初代より言い伝えられている「いい物を造れ」という言葉をかたくなに守り、現在も職人の手造りによる丈夫で美しい本物の漆器を造りつづけております。
Marusan Lacquer was established by the founder Seinosuke Aoyagi, who learned lacquerware skills in the Masuzawa district, which is now part of the Isawa dam. Aoyagi returned to his home district Surisawa in 1904, to open "Marusan Lacquerware Factory". The business was handed down for four generations, to have the company name changed to "Marusan Lacquerware Ltd". Marusan solemnly abides to its motto "make good products" taught by the founder. The company's artisans produce sturdy yet beautiful, real lacquerware.
