Tekiseisha stands at the foot of Mount Oyama in the town of Joboji which boasts the Hachiyozan Tendaiji, one of Tohoku's historic temples. We produce, exhibit and sell lacquerware and lacquer artworks that use only lacquer made in Joboji. The name "Tekiseisha" means "a drop of life", "the essence of co-existence". This name was chosen because we endeavour to keep the world of Joboji lacquerware alive, dedicating ourselves to maintaining all the processes involved, from carefully collecting lacquer drop by drop, to creating real lacquerware that is incorporated into and adds colour to daily life.
