The local produce wholesaling business involves designing fabrics, sending designs to the mill, purchasing completed fabrics, and delivering them to other wholesalers across the nation. Today we also promote Yuki-tsumugi by making shawls and clothes that exhibit its distinguished texture. In 2010, UNESCO designated the technique of Yuki-tsumugi as a masterpiece of the oral and intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
